The weeks after surgery are not the time to be driving to appointments. I bring the couch, towels and everything else to your home, so you only have to move as far as the next room.
Sessions are quiet and unhurried. If you need to stop, reposition or take a break, we do — nothing about the treatment is forced.
How post-op drainage differs
Post-surgical work uses very light, rhythmic manual lymphatic drainage to help move trapped fluid towards healthy lymph nodes, which can help with swelling, tightness and discomfort during healing.
Colombian wood therapy is reduced or left out completely depending on how far along you are. I work around incisions, drains, garments and any areas that are still sensitive.

- It depends on your procedure and your surgeon's guidance. Many clients are cleared to begin in the first week or two after surgery, but I will always ask you to confirm clearance from your surgeon before your first session.
- Does post-operative lymphatic drainage hurt?
- It shouldn't. The pressure used is very light — lymphatic vessels sit just under the skin, so deep pressure isn't needed or wanted. I work around incisions, drains and tender areas, and you set the pace.
- Do you come to my home after surgery?
- Yes, and that's the main reason clients choose Bare Lymphatics after surgery. Travelling while sore and swollen is the last thing you need, so I bring everything to you anywhere in Cheshire and Chester.
- How many post-op sessions will I need?
- Most people benefit from a course rather than a single session, often several in the first few weeks then tapering off. I'll give you an honest recommendation at your first appointment rather than sell you a package up front.
- Which treatment should I book?
- The 90-minute Signature Sculpt & Drain is usually the right choice after surgery, as it allows enough time to work gently and thoroughly. Wood therapy is reduced or left out entirely depending on your stage of healing.
